mine stays on for like 3 min if that helps

 

would it still have the delay on it if i took off the battery cables off the battery the hooked them up??? i unhooked them then put em back on 20 min later and they were still on??? also the motor wont turn over wen i turn the key it wont even respond at all.

 

sounds like you have more electrical issues than just the headlights,you need to start chaseing them down one by one,thay would be the best way to start.

 

Yeah you said that your lights shut off until you closed the door then they turned back on.

So its leading me to think you have some loose connections at the headlamp switching either the wires are melted or the switch is bad.

take a look at the wires going to your headlight switch and see if any our burned or loose.

would it have anything to do with the back hatch??? my locking mechanism is all broke and it wont latch...
