Default Runners. but no blinkers.

My front pass. blinker (front, not corner) has been giving me trouble the past week or so. (no bulb power) as in it would work sometimes, and sometimes it wouldn't. when it wouldn't work, i could get behind it and wiggle the ground (black) wire, and voila! it would work. (with blinker) for a minute. so today i decided to open er up and see what was going on. I found that the ground prong that is usually an s type shape had broken and was now an upside down j type shape (stupid analogy.. i know) so i had good contact on the bulb.. but no contact to the pin that comes from the bottom of the connector. it seem to just squeeze in the hole to make contact with the pin. so i sort of bent it so it could make contact with the pin, and sure enough. that was my problem. but now.. i don't have blinkers. either of them. no tic from the relay or nothing. but i DO now have both running lights (all 4 really). Anyone have an idea as to why i would have blinkers when the bulb isn't working and then not have blinkers when it does work? it has gotten me into a pickle. and I've given up for the night

Here is a teaser..

Did you top off your blinker fluid after you tried fixing the grounds?

If that is not your problem, I would check if your fix held up. You may need a more permanent fix to that ground.

I'm going to ignore your fluid comment.

And the ground can't be bad or the light would not turn on at all. When I flip the bulb(s) in the socket. The bright filament works too. So I know my bulbs are good.

I just don't have relay reaction.

Yes. I will add that to my signature.

Yep. That would be the first place to look. Then check your other grounds.

If I didn't have ground. The light would not work. THE LIGHT WORKS. Even if that ground was bad. The other blinker should work. And it doesn't. Like I said. The blinkers worked when that bulb was out (due to the bad ground) now I have ZERO blinker now that the ground is fixed.

Could you explain how you think the blinkers would work when the bulb was not working. And now that it's working I don't have blinkers? I want to know how you think that's it.

Any other thoughts? Checked grounds. Again. Even bought a new connector for the bulb. No blinkers. Runners work. Bulbs are good. Relay is good. When I very first turn the blinker on I hear a little click from the relay, but nothing. Thoughts?

Sounds kinda like mine did last week. New multi-flasher cured it.
YMMV
