Default Rukse High Flow Thermostat Housing

Has anyone used one? Any reviews or opinions? It looks like it's between $50-$60, and an OEM goes for $17. Is it worth the price? I have been having overheating issues, and already checked the usual culprits (coolant, thermostat, water pump, lower radiator hose). Thanks for the info.

If you are having overheating issues, that isn't why. The OEM thermostat housing isn't the weak spot.
What shape is your fan clutch in? How about the electric fan? How old is the radiator?
Does it overheat at idle? On the highway? Both?

It's a '99. It seems to overheat after driving highway speeds for around 45 min. It does not overheat at idle, ever.

You mention that you have checked the usual suspects..Did you replace the Water pump and/or thermostat or have recently?

Not yet. Water pump and thermostat are my next project.

My guess from the symptoms you've described is that it's a bad water pump. The impeller fins are probably rusting away.

At operating temp feel the bottom radiator hose and return hose from heater core to make sure you getting good flow before changing parts. Also at operating temp with engine off spin the fan to see if fan clutch may need replaced. It should have some resistance and not spin freely at operating temp. Does elec fan kick on?

These are good points, but given that it's overheating only on the highway and never at idle, I doubt it's the cooling fan. I agree that feeling the hoses is a good approach.
