Any advise on rugged ridge cross over steering kit, or others?

Sorry I'm no help. I can however tell you my Rusty's kit has a lot of play in it.

Thanks, I'll check out JCR & I've heard not to use Rusty's steering, but no specific reasons.

A lot of people say their products are weak and they have poor customer service. I don't really know about CS as I have never called them. I don't like their steering setup on my 2K XJ with a 6" lift. It has the worst amount of tie rod roll. Ive read that it is a bad design for lifted vehicles.

dont use rustys or rugged ridge. both have a ton of tie rod roll and give scary driving characteristics. my buddies have run both, and both went to custom setups built by me and ballistic fab parts.

jcr seems pretty decent.....i havent heard any bad about their setup

Altho I have no personal experience with it, everyone that I have seen or heard of that uses the Rugged ridge system says it's junk. Stay far away from it.

I got the Currie system & I'm still trying to figure out if my weird-feeling ride can be attributed to it.

Just because it's lifted does t mean it should ride like crap. Take the time to look it over. Have someone turn your steering wheel side to side while you look at it. You might not like what you see.
When you say it drives like a lifted rig, what does that mean? Mine tracks all overthe road and has a serious dead spot in the steering. I can see the tie rod roll when I look at it and it even pops as it rolls every time I turn. I DD my XJ with kids and I do not trust Rusty's setup on it.

Ok, well to be specific the steering is slightly vague (sp??). But for something where almost every suspension part has over 250,000 miles on it, drives fine to me.

I guess it's all in what you use the XJ for. But so far my opinion is that all aftermarket steering setups have their pros & cons. Since I don't understand all the technical aspects & nuances, I went with a system that's designed similar to stock, just beefier - and that's the Currie steering.

Here is why not to use any of Rusty's stuff...

This is only one of many recorded instances of broken TRE's using Rusty's stuff. In simple words, its junk.
