Default Rubicon express. Lift questions.

Ok. All I've heard about RE is that they sell great products. Found this http://www.rubiconexpress.com/Suspen...px?part=RE6025 and I think I've pretty much settled on that. Alternatively I can get the Rough Country 3" kit for 600 with full leaf packs but it doesn't come with the extended rear brake lines or swaybar DC's/links. Granted it does come with shocks at that price.

Pretty much RE 3.5" kit+shocks ~700$ versus RC 3" lift+shocks 600$

Any input guys?

I ran the add a leaf version of the lift with great results. The only downfall was the sway bar disconnects are sometimes a pain in the *** to re connect. Other than that no complaints... It with held being jumped several times, minor rock crawling and trails without ever breaking.

Hmmm, I may reconsider AAL's. Thing is my leaf pack is sitting flat right now so they're pretty worn out. Most people say if your leafs aren't healthy at the time of the install AALs only hold their lift height for a year or so. I'd love to save some money, but I'd hate for it to be a waste down the road. All my prior lifts have been from the junkyard, rode rough, I'm ready for something nice this time around lol.

I have that kit on my '92, full leaf packs. it's been on for six years with no trouble except the front shock bushings wore out- called RE and they sent me new ones at no cost. i'd definately buy from them again

RE all the way.
you can expect to get about 4.5 inches out of that 3.5 kit when it's all together.
RE tends to rate their lift a little small. my 5.5 RE got me about 6.5, and it doesn't sag after 5 years either.

Hmmmm...and it's about 4" where a SYE is really needed right? I don't know about my 99 specifically because I just got it. I'm trying to stay away from dealing with the SYE so 3.5" seemed to be the max I could go. Let me know if I'm wrong.

From what I have heard, anything over 2" with the 97+ models could very well require an SYE. They're different from the pre '97 models. So you might need to wait a bit & factor in the cost of the SYE. And whatever you do, no matter what anyone says, do not get the AAL. After all, if you can't afford to do it right once, how can you afford to do it right twice? Because you know the AAL will sag before long.

.

SYE or TC Drop may be necessary, and dont get AAL. Full pack will last longer and ride better.

Absolutely love my RE 3.5" lift. Just wish I hadn't been so cheap and went with the AAL. Worth every penny even with my AAL.

I got RE's 3.5 inch with leaf springs and I'm happy with it. The disconnects are a bit of a pain to use but overall I have no regrets.

I would say piece together your own.
i would recommend, OME 934 ZJ coils, OME 2" lift leafs MD or HD (HD usually nets around 3") and maybe a MJ or other shackle. and then maybe some Bilstein 5100s/5150s.
Or you could do a bastard pack/longer shackle for the leafs.
