Default rough start up

My 88' Cherokee idles low and rough when i first crank it up for about 15-20 seconds then clears up and idles smooth. I think it may be flooding when it does this. What could it be?

You could have a leaky fuel injector (or multiple leaky injectors)

If that is the case, raw fuel seeps into the cylinder. When you start the engine, it runs rough for a few seconds while the engine burns off the excess fuel, then the idle straightens out.

Not uncommon at all. How many miles on these injectors?

Thanks for the link and the insight. Honestly, idk. I bought it and haven't replaced them and it's on 208K now. Was running fine till a few days ago and still runs fine once it clears up. I switched out the battery b/c the other was weak and replaced it with a much smaller one. All the electronics work fine but I have heard the they are tricky when it comes to battery strength so idk if that is causing it or not. Wouldn't think so since it turns over fine but just wont hit but idk.

I had some chewed up wire going to the oxygen sensor heater relay or something like that. Spliced the wires back together and it ran great.
