rough idle and fuel smell
Just changed my spark plugs and wires 2 days ago, every thing was working great. Today I have a rough idle and fuel smell, I can't figure it out. Is it related to the spark plugs or something else?

welcome to the forum.
1) Always provide info regarding your cherokee: year, engine etc. The advice requested sometimes is different for different years.
2) Rule after problems occuring after work that has been done: CHECK the work that has been done.
So, with no additional info, let's gamble you have the inline 6 4.0 auto:
In your case:
1)have you checked the spark plug gaps before you put them in?
2) check if you reconnected the plug wires in the correct firing sequence. Check this again.
3) make sure you've have the plugs and wires all seated snug

Thank you for the welcome,
Sorry, I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 4.0L inline v6. Checked the wires and the plugs are snug. I bought the pre-gapped plugs so I did not check the gap, are the pre-gapped plugs not gapped correctly?

They usually are pre-gapped. However, always check the gap before putting them in. Gap difference out of spec can cause a lot of running rough issues etc and are simply prevented by verifying.
You made absolutely sure you connected the wires correctly?
What plugs did you put in?

I think it's a Haynes or Chilton diagram. Flintstone will chime in eith the sordid details.

I'm sure that has caused plenty, plenty of grief, is why that has been in my signature for about a year.
Andy, if you could find a real computer and fill out your info, people won't need to search around to see what you have. Hopefully soon, ether the Gadget makers, Or CF will figure out a way to make that work. There were plenty of changes in 14 years, and needing to look for post #3, if you are on post #30 sucks.....
