rough country vs. rustys
im looking for a 3" lift, probably gonna be adding a BB too, the only difference i can see is that the rustys kit comes with brak line extensions, which im guessin would be better if im going to put a BB on too, what do you guys think would be a better choice?

well im trying to keep the price down, if i had that kind of money i would def go for a RE, but im not that lucky, lol, but now that im looking at it, im kinda leaning towards a 4.5" kit... its so hard to choose, lol

Well the RC 3" kit with new leaf packs is $510, then add $150 for BB and the added exp for longer shock up grade and you are at what around $700..RC 4.5 kit is what $655 with new leaf packs..Get the 4.5 kit with new leaf packs and save yourself a lot of trouble..

How do you plan to adress the track-bar?
How about control arms?
What about the slip yoke?
How about driveshaft angles?
Brake lines are certainly going to be an issue, are those cheesy relocators going to be enough???

ya, thats the other thing, i dont really want to go high enough to where i run into all those problems, which is why i want to just start out with a 3" and later on go with the BB if i want more lift, so i would be using the 3" as my tester/beginner lift

One more thing to remember is that the newer XJ's are less tolerant to lifts compared to the older ones. 3" is going to be the max lift you even want to consider without seriously look at some of the other issues. If it was mine... throw a BB on it and get used to the way it looks, handles and drives.
