I changed the oil this weekend. Now I'm using Shell Rotella t5 synthetic blend 10W-30. It seemed to quiet the lifters down and the pressure is better. Thanks for the write-up Salad.
I changed the oil and filters in 3 vehicles (4.0 XJ,4.3 Blazer,5.2 Durango;all with around 145k miles on them) from AA oil and Fram to T6 and NAPA Gold. All picked up a noticeable increase in oil pressure at highway speeds and at idle. Not saying other oils (and filters) won't do it to.

I don't get what's with all the negativity in this thread. This is a good write-up with some valuable information. Someone has gone thru great lengths to find and present the information in a fashionable and enjoyable matter. This is just facts and numbers. Those who aren't subject to financial restraint and think the Delo or Rotella is for them, then by all means let them buy it. If one feels that the oil that is on special at walmart is fine for them, then to each their own. But i think we could keep the ignorance to a minimum, couldn't we?

This was a very informative read. I tried rotella maybe 2 years ago and my distributor quickly went bad. After that, i changed my dizzy and oil and things are good. I credited the increased wear to the rotella oil but maybe i was wrong? It could have been coincidence. I have since used 1 qt of rotella to 4 of other types of oil (including valvoline, quaker, etc).

After quite a bit of reading, I'm considering taking the plunge soon into trying Rotella Oil in the jeep to see if a few things quiet down a little. I've been running Mobil 1 Synthetic 10W-30 with Mopar filter for the last couple changes (only had it 4 months).
Is my best bet to go with the Rotella T5 (10W-30 synthetic blend) or T6? I'm in Kansas and spring/summer is coming. Nothing too crazy temperature wise.

Oreilly's has T5 rotella 15w-40 on sale for 13.99 a gallon... not bad!
I replaced my oil pressure sensor and my oil pressure went up... now that I mention it, I replaced the coolant temperature sensor and my temperature went up... meh
Im too busy at the moment to hook independent gauges up to verify... sounds like a summer project..
