I bought one off of a Grand Cherokee at the junk yard for $20. I think it was only 12 sheet metal screws and they were screwed right into the roof. Very easily removed and installed.

I made my own. I went to Pull-A-Part and picked up a pair of ladder racks dirt cheap; cleaned them, painted them and mounted them up. Then I ordered one set of steel foldable wheeler ramps from Harbor Freight, sized 74x48 I believe (I tried to post a link, but apparently they don't carry them anymore). Next, I placed them on top of the ladder racks and bolted it all together with eight u-bolts.

Finally, I mounted my HighLift, four 100W forward facing lights, and one rear utility light. I also picked up a set of square plastic plugs from Lowes and popped them in the open end of the 1" square tubes -on the ramps.

I have carried a few things up there and it's pretty sturdy. The ramps are rated at 1000lbs and the ladder racks will support 300lbs together. I have climbed up there a couple of times and tried to shake it loose, but she's solid as a rock.

All-in-all, it cost me about $80.00.

In the living room:

It holds my HighLift nicely:

From outer space: Notice the utility light VVV
