the coleman one is pretty cheap but will it fit on our xj's? not sure about the dimensions of our roof mounts so but alot of 4runner guys have that one, but watch out cuz the basket is like 6.5'' tall!

if your handy you should try to make your own! theres nothing like having your own hand built stuff for your jeep!! Look at quadratec/ 4wd for them too as another place for you to compare

it just seems like the JC rack is kinda pointless for anything else other than a spare and high lift but really that all ill need it for so i might just go with that, besides it doesnt look bulky

Summit sells the Surco and mounts..Rack is $250 and mounting hardware is $54..plus about $18 in shipping..for a total of roughly $322 shipped..now that's not bad at all..

yeah these things are rediculous in price and they seem pretty simple to build.... it jsut hard for me to justify spendin 400 bucks for a roof rack when i only have 800 in the whole jeep.... im gonna kep my eyes peeled for a steal of a deal on one but if i decide to build one ill def post up some pics of the build! or if anyone has ne home built ones i woudl like to see!

I got my surco rack on amazon.com for $189 with free shipping. Thats the best price i could find on it... The Surco racks are nice too, they are all aluminum so no rust or corrosion.

Heres the link:
