My jeep has nothing on the roof mounting wise, I do have rain gutters but I like the look of the stock rack that doesn't attach to the rain gutters, how would I go about installing one? Just pick and pull and screw it in? Or do I need to reinforce it somehow

This a bad price? I'm not big on roof racks for tire mounts and all that. I like the look of them, and I have a truck for all my other haulin needs. Should I just find an oem one or go with this one that has all hardware and instructions.

I find the stock ones pretty weak though. Something a lot stronger but with similar to stock appearance would be two solid bars across the top. Like this picture. I currently have a stock roof rack loaded it with my canoe a couple times but now the bars are too weak to hold the canoe up. Usually end up throwing a lifejacket inbetween the bars and roof. I want to get something similar to the picture

Sound like you prefer the factory look. As state by canada_man the local "automotive recycling provider" would be your best bet. Or someone on your local craigslist that is "parting out" a Cherokee. Now you will need to securely mount the thing. Check into a threaded insert kit ( also sometimes called a NutZert ). It is how the factory united is mounted.

If you did want to consider a gutter mount system. Look over these types of options.

Good Luck.
