Alright, im guessing everyone has experienced this to some extent. my 97 is rotting alot in front of the rear tires, and in some other spots along the rockers from smashin them off rocks
Im just wondering what people have done to fix this
Are there any write ups on replacing them with stock ones, ive even heard of people welding steel in and making sliders out of them( i would rather go with the stock look, and then buy/make some bolt on sliders)

Run a few searches here and on your favorite search engine. You will find some people are just welding in steel tubing. Almost like built in rock sliders. Those should not rot out as easly.
Thats what I did to my new xj.
here is a pic from under rocker.

Here is a picture of the side. I will try to get a better picture for you latter.

you just using square tubing? like 2x3 or something, cant really tell from the pics. where do you weld it to? the pinch welds?
i googled around for a while and came across this write up. looks like it would work great, but it looks a little complicated for me, especially since i dont have a welder
