I have some homemade ones that I'm putting on my 85. They will be bolted through the pinch weld and the rear spring mount, then welded to the front drop bracket brace.

and yes, jcr's site has the best pics.

Yeah it is better protection! Plus have you seen them in ACTION I have seen both and they offer the same amount of protection without losing CLEARANCE which is the whole reason we lift our Jeeps to begin with!

I would not trade my Rocker Skins for Rock rails anyday!

there is no way 1/4" sheet bolted, or welded to the stock weak, nowhere reinforced stock rockers will hold up like properly tied in rails or a full rocker replacement with 1/4" box steel. I've dropped my jeep over a foot straight down onto the rails with simply a (big) dent in the tube. Try that in your rocker skins and your doors wont ever close again.

Are you saying that I havn't tried that with my Rocker skins!

Hmmm Have you ever seen my rig in action!

Don't knock it till you try it. All you are offering is a ignorant opinion.

If you have wheeled the rock garden in Badlands like mine has then you would know mine are well tested. Ahhhhh yours dented I am so sorry maybe you should try some rocker skins since mine seem to be stronger. All I had to do was repaint!

ive welded mine to the chasis to and bolted to the pinch seam, no real problems but one of our wheelers bolted his on but ripped it off on a tree root last week, dont know what it would have sone to mine but i doupt it would have torn the chasis.

what exactly do you mean by 'frame stiffners' anyway???

I removed a few of your pics cuase this is not a pic thread. And you can get the point across with one pic.

anyone have ideas for how to secure it toi the rails? idk about welding and what about bolts? go all the way through and nut it? cant seem to find out much info on it.
