Default ring and pinion

anyone know anything about usa standard gears? i'm replacing the ring and pinion in my rear diff and need to do it on a budget... i'd like the gears to be decently quiet though.

In my experience they are all the same if you have the gears installed correctly they shouldn't make any noise.

I've never heard that anyone can even tell the difference.

Gears shouldnt make noise unless they are installed wrong.

this is not correct. every aftermarket gear makes some noise unless you are buying a OEM gear. they are all cut differently from the plant, they are all heat treated differently, some are cyro treated and many are not. this all adds to the difference in each gear.

genuine gear are the worst out there for making noise. yukon / superior gear are the quietest gear out there. do some research and compare manufacture. when it comes to even install some are easy to set up then other to.

I have had excellent success with the Ring & Pinion Shop on Grosbeck in the metro Detroit area. They know their business.

BTW, likewise for Eaton Detroit Spring. Outstanding knowledge, patience.
