Thumbs down Axle Re-gear

I recently rebuilt my 4.0 with a 4.7 stroker kit!! I was so pumped to get it all done and back to new. But I was disappointed with the results I felt absolutely 0 power gain, when I was told it would blow me away. After doing some reading on the internet, I came across the suggestion that I need to re-gear my axles from the stock 3.55 to either a 4.11 or a 4.56...The problem is, I don't have 1200 bucks to do it, or the knowledge to do it myself. I heard that a Wagoneer has 4.11 axles stock, could I grab me a pair at a junk yard and throw them on with little modification to the Jeep or the axles? Or would it be too much for my inexperienced butt to handle? Any other suggestions?? Thanks!

From what ive seen wagoneer axles are 3.31s try to find a 4cyl xj a lot of them had 4.10s direct bolt in that way. they waggy axles require relocating spring perches (rear) adding control arm brackets (front) Hope this Helps

if you havent felt a power gain from that motor im prob gonna be close to a 100% that there isnt something right setup wise w/ that motor. a friend of mine did a 4.6 or a 4.7 w/ a carb in a yj and could burn off 33's w/ a 3.07 gear on pavement

So i should feel a lot of power without re-gearing?? Either way, should I re-gear, or can I wait??

I have a 4.6l stroker i built. I still have stock gearing. It does great i get better gas mileage on interstate just not around town. But the reason for that is i can't stay out of it. LOL. When i am pulling hills at speed my engine doesn't downshift anymore to climb then. i can actually pick up speed with bearly pushing on gas. So there has to be something wrong with yours. As soon as mine was done i felt the diff and i run 35 BFG KM2's.

Hmmm... I felt nothing at all, I still could barely get up to like 50 tops, and it didn't seem like it had any more push on the start up, I think you're right, something is wrong...i'll look at some stuff and see what I find, thanks a ton guys!!!
