I'll have to go look, but the side markers flash alternately with the turn signals with headlights on, but stay steady with headlights off.

learned something else while at the JY today. been trying to figure out what that other 2 wire plug is down by the headlight harness plugs. its for the sensor on the radiator. the reason i didn't know, is because of this.

so i snagged that sensor off the '89 unit that i have learned so much from there.

lmao, no, just plain ol oilfield hand with a project that is making him think. that plug in the middle behind the bumper is for ambient temp sensor? if so, the sensor is gone. is it needed, or can i roll just fine without it? couldn't find any at the jy. i guess everybody got them

Well, I'm just a jeep newbie, but I think that socket by the lower radiator hose is the sensor for the electric fan.

I'm pretty sure you are right. reads temp from radiator and tells it when to kick on. kinda scary that someone would just plug that port.
my next problem, is, i got the lights working properly, and put that whole front end back together, and now the drivers side is doing the same thing. i checked that socket though, so i don't know why its doing it now. but it started to rain, so i shut it down. will get back on it either sunday evening or monday morning.
