Reverse lights aren't working on my 93 XJ with AX-15 5 spd. transmission. I tried the easy fix of changing the bulbs, and although one was bad it didn't solve the problem. Next is tracking down the switch. Anyone know if it's on the high side and I get to it through the console, or is it accessed from underneath?

Has the 5 spd got a NSS, too? I thought that was just the automatic.

It will start now without the clutch in, which I like. I haven't crawled under to see if this was jumped by the PO, but I doubt it. So the 5 spd has the same POS NSS that the autos have? or is it just not as troublesome?

My starts without the clutch in... and my back up lights work. If my NSS is busted it can stay that way. Not worth the $$ or trouble if all it does it make it start with the clutch in.

Not calling you a liar but I havent heard of this on manuals before. As I have seen many manual vehicles that start in gear. That is how you crawl your vehicle off the road if breaks down.

Edit: My parts manual (91-93 Jeeps) only shows the NSS and back up light switch for autos. It doesnt even list a back up light switch for the manuals..

May have to crawl under it this weekend and take a look..l

Previous Owner. He was a doctor and didn't seem mechanically inclined, so I don't think he would have jumpered a safety switch.
