Default Retro wiring- Possible?

I'm dealing with my first CPS issue now. This site and all of it's members have been very helpful. I also own a 65 MGB that I defy to die. So what I'm wondering is there a way to bypass all these troublesome sensors and computers rewiring just the bare basics. My Cherokee is 20 years old now, I'm the only owner. It runs great except for the sensors that shut it down in an effort to make it run perfectly. Who needs perfect? It is a truck, it needs to get power from the battery to the plugs then keep it self charged. Simple. Am I dreaming?

You would still need sensors if you get rid of you computer and its sensors

Old cars had mechanical sensors or level sensors.
They would work directly to what they were atached to.

If you have an fuel injected car you need the ecu. It also help extend you engines life by adjust to conditions like the ignition and so on. You probably wouldn't have got 200,000 miles out of it

You deff. need sensor on certain parts, for saftey issues also.

Unless you remove the throttle body and injection setup and swap it to a carb forget it. you need those sensors and the ECU for the engine to run.

Just clean everything up and make sure the wiring is in good shape and you should have no problems.
