Resistor Block
Hello, I'm not too sure if this is the right section, but I need to know where the resistor block for the blower fan goes on my 2000 Cherokee Classic 4.0L 4WD Auto. Is it easy to install? Thanks!

Not hard at all if you have a 1/4" drive socket set or driver. First, remove the glovebox, there are 4 screws in the bottom and i believe two in the top if you open the box. Next, there is a access panel under the dash that needs to go, pretty sure there are 4 screws holding that together. From there you should see the heater ducting that houses the resistor from the inside. I went through the hole where the glovebox normally sits. you will see it easily. Remove the socket for the resistor, two screws, and it is out! installation is reverse of removal, and, voila! you are done.

I'm curious brn...did you have intermittent a/c-heater fan function. Mine keeps going out when I start my 2000 4.0 classic and doesn't start blowing hot air until I hit a bump. I'm wondering if you experienced the same problem or something entirely different?

I just did this job on my 2000xj. The BMR (Blower Motor Reistor) is behind and below the glove box. There are 3-screws that hold the cover on; 2 in the back and 1 in the front. To acces the front screw you need to open the glove box door all the way down. To do this you remove the 2 rubber stoppers on the top sides of the glove box opening. You will see them when you open the glove box. They simply slide off and will allow the door to open further down. Once that is removed you will see the screw to remove. The two back screws are hard to see, but you can feel them. An 8mm deep socket helps here.
Once you have the screws removed, you need to pull the cover off. Then you will see a white thing with two screws and wires - that is the BMR. Remove it, put on the new one, and reverse the procedure.
I assume that you blower only works on 4 and not 1-2-3. Correct?

resisitor block?
It doesn't work at all sometimes and other times (usually after I hit a bump) it starts to blow but not with it's full power even on 4th setting. I'm now thinking that it may be the blower motor...thoughts? BTW thanks for the responses in advance!!
