After I removed my hub bolts, I replaced them with regular 6 point bolts also to ease in removal later. Could help out

Axle nut --- Heat. You're replacing the hub, so no risk of damage. I heated mine up with a torch and the axle nut came off with a breaker bar and without breaking a sweat. I used a long screwdriver jammed through the u-joint to keep the hub from spinning.

Removing hub --- Socket/bolt trick. Use the power steering to pop the hub out. This works beautifully and is well documented on the inter-webs.

at the time.. 4 years ago i had to do it that way, ive learned a lot more handy tricks and it always good to know alternatives.

I hear that. The very first time I did the axle hub I didn't know about the socket/bolt trick to pop the hub and I spent a couple hours fighting with the thing. That was brutal, so when I came across the trick I was in awe - in a couple minutes it popped right out with no mess, no fuss, no frustration.
It was that same time that I also had trouble with the axle nut. I ended up going out and buying the electric impact that I still use today to try and get it off and it was still a PITA.

Fast forward to the last few days, in under an hour I had the wheels off and both axles out (connected to the hubs since I wasn't replacing them) in under an hour.
