Default Replacing the vent tube on a Dana 30

The Dana 30 I'm working on came out of an 86 XJ. The vent tube has rusted and broke off flush where it is installed. What's the best way to get the remaining piece out, and what do I do about replacing that secion of vent tubing? So I just get some steel fuel line and use RTV to hold it in? Or is there a fitting that can be used to insert in there? What dors everyone recommend?

Drill it out. Tap it. Place a barb fitting in it. Then attach hose.

x2. Drill and tap seems the best way to go.

the plastic insert is just pushed in, not threaded in from factory.

i'd just use a bolt or large screw(lag bolt) and twist in into the broken plastic piece and pull it out.

then either drill and tap or replace plastic barbed insert and use one of these...

Took the advice given. However there was no plastic involved. Mine was a steel line pressed in. I went at it with a pin punch, eventually knocking it out. Then I used a 1/8 NPT tap and threaded the hole. Screwed in a barbed brass fitting and all is good. Thanks for the suggestions.
