Replacing transfer case rear oil seal

It's not something I'm real familiar with. My mounts are shot and my whole engine/tranny ect are all (happily) living about 3/4 of an inch forward of where it belongs, (for now). This affects where the seal ends up riding on the yoke. Yours looks a little close to me, like the engine could be back from where it belongs. Been rear ended? I think there should be a little shiny shaft showing from where the shaft moved in and out. IDK...you might check your mounts. The engine should look centered forward/back in it's mounts. Has your drive line or rear axle been messed with? Also on anything like that, harmonic balancer for instance, the seal can eat a groove into whatever it's riding on. One "shade tree" solution is to put a spacer where the seal goes home, so it sits out enough not to end up riding in the groove.
