Why do you think you spun a bearing? What are the symptoms? Replacing rod bearings is fairly easy but I would also replace or at least check the main bearings too. Make sure you get the correct size bearings sometimes the factory screws up a crank and has to install over-sized bearings...this is true for the mains and cam bearings too. Be sure to check clearances with plastigage. Error on the loose side on a high mileage engine .0015 to .003 If you spun a bearing you most likely damaged the crank too and if that is the case you will have to pull the engine. If you do have to replace the crank you may as well do a complete rebuild.

 

thanks, one last question... ive read that the acuracy of the mic should be to the ten thousandths, which is the 4th digit right? and the mic i have only reads in incroments of 5 on the 4th digit, (only reading a 5 or 0), is my mic acurate enough or does that 4th digit really need to be in single # 1-2-3-4-5-6 ect?
