The old jeeps are like the gm colums. Stevos right about the tools you need. You need to get behind the turn signal cam. Im pretty sure its a spring re retainer. Push a small rectangle lookin piece down once everythings out of the way. It will pull right out. Some may have a bolt holding it in.

im just replacing the lock i cant find a locksmith around here and they wana charge me out the *** i work at a tire and auto shop so i have everything needed just needed the instructions lol

To replace the ignition just take off the wheel and remove the lock plate and then remove the blinker assembly behind all that u will remove a screw that holds the ignition in and just put the ignition lock in the on position and just pull it straight out and put the new one back in and put everything back together should only take u 30min tops

If your steering wheel is sloppy it might be a good time to get that fixed because you will be halfway to the loose bolts when you get to the ignition lock.
