Replacing Exhaust Manifold
How much of a job is it to replace the exhaust manifold on a 1998 jeep cherokee. It has a 4.0 inline six engine. Mine cracked and I need to replace it. What is a good one? And how do I do it. I am sure it is not super hard to do. Need advice. Thanks, Rocksy. Happy jeepin

It is not that hard, get everything you can out of your way to make it easier to get to the bolts, unbolt bolts from exhaust and down pipe, your first time it will take you about 6-8hours. uscrew your 02 sensor just to make sure you do not damage it,also your intake will be hanging so be careful not to damage wires or cables, you may need to remove intake also to get exhaust manifold out.if you do make sure you tag all lines, wires and cables so you know where they go.
The first thing I always do before I work on a car is buy a manual as a guide.

98 did not have 02's in the header...that is 99+ your also gonna have to remove the intake mani so you can bring the header up and out.....the intake/exh gasket is one piece so they both have to come off to replace it.
