Replacing Alternator in 1998 XJ 4.0 i6

Alternator went bad in 1998 XJ 4.0....

Looking at parts from NAPA an wondering if more is better. 25$ Price difference. Choices are:

Links are not working for me.

But if they are both lifetime warranty I would always go with the more powerful. Will you need it? Maybe not, depends on what options your vehicle came with.

I say go for the Napa one. Thing that is confusing me is that it looks like this fits a Grand Cherokee too. I always thought a little grinding of the brackets was necessary to put a ZJ one in an XJ. If the listing is correct that is pretty cool. 136 amps. That would not be a straight bolt in for my '00. They changed something for '99 and up. Mine uses a different one. 120 amps. But I did buy the Napa one and it has been behaving itself for at least a year now.

Little tip. Just take out the damn battery tray. IMO worth the extra 10 minutes.
