replacing an alternator on a '91 cherokee
Hello - has anyone had any issues removing the fan from their 91 cherokee? I have 3 out of the 4 bolts off and the the 4th one keep causing the belt to turn. Is there a trick to this? My son has gone off-roading and the mud has destroyed the alternator. Please help. Thanks!

Removing the clutch fan? You need two tools - a wrench for the nuts, and a long flat screwdriver.
Work with the wrench on one side of the hub, jam the screwdriver between the stud or nut and hub on the other side. This will fix the pully in place so you can loosen that last nut (actually, do this to break all four nuts loose - it saves you trouble, and it's easy once you get used to it.)
