Default Replaced upper rad. hose, now strange noise?

Found out I had a hole in my upper radiator hose, so i took it off and went to replace the hose and they didnt have the right one. Well we found one that had the same diameter and was just about the same length and made the turns, I carried it home, put it on, and decided it was time to crank my jeep. Turn the key over and as soon as i do i hear a strang noise when the engine turns over. Like almost a clanking noise. I'm afraid i've messed something up but i dont know what it could be. when i heard that noise it only turned over a few times, not even enough to crank the engine. Afterwards i completely filled up the radiator with antifreeze tried one more time. Same thing. What could it be? I dont want to mess my jeep up as it's my only mode of transportation and i dont have enough money to buy another vehicle.

Oh yeah, and i checked the oil and its fine, it did NOT make this noise when i turned it off last which was like 3 hours ago. The ONLY thing i've did to this jeep is take off the upper radiator hose and replace it with another. PLEASE help.... i dont know what to do, i fell like a lost puppy right now lol

Sounds to me like your fan shroud is hitting your fan. You may have pushed on it while you were putting the hose on.

No problem, a fix that cost $0 is the best kind.
