I got OEM style motor mounts that came from some Korean parts house. I wanted the BDI ones, but man are they expensive. Hopefully by the time I chew these up, I'll have enough $$ for the BDI set.

I am on my second xj, now with 200k on the clock. My fist xj was a 1996 xj country 4.0 4x4, and it had 40k on the clock, and it did the same thing. At highway speeds when you let off the gas then back on , it sounded like a clunk from the rear. I have never known an xj not to do this. I attributed it to the rear sway bar loading up under torque.
It always sounded more like a thud to me. After inspecting the rear ends, and replacing with high quality ujoints, the problem persisted. Even inspected axel end play, and center carriers, nothing was wrong. Just make sure to check axel end play. I had a rear end go out on me last year and the end play was like 1/2 inch. The jeep would sway excessively during highway asphalt twisties.
