so after a wild weekend of breaking down and blowing up and breaking bolts. I got the jeep home, and then trailered to a shop to have the radiator and the thermostat replaced. (this is after a buddy and i replaced the pump on the side of the road..) he has had it since tuesday, was going to be done wed, then needed a new part, gonna be done thurs, had to order another part, then hes going to have it done friday! i go to pick it up, and he tells me it has a head problem.. so they are going to take off the heads and check everything with it..anyone have a clue as to what kind of price range that runs. i wasnt patient or pleased enough to stick around and find out. its a 98 limited 5.2 4wd

You might want to try the Grand Cherokee tech forum.

i would say with the labor of pulling the heads then having them checked for cracks etc. your looking at 1k+ just in diag.
