Alright so I have a 99 with a 4.0 and I am replacing the injectors.
I had a set of used 784s in there for a little while and my jeep did not like them and I started to have all kinds of issues. I threw my stock injectors back in and it went back to normal. At least one of my injectors is leaking and I am going to replace all 6. However, I am wondering if I should buy 6 oem ones or try my luck with 6 new 784s.
I think I am just going to get 6 oem ones unless you guys think differently.

 

I'd throw in some 784s. But just make sure that whoever you buy them from flow tests them first to make sure they're working properly. Or if you're grabbing some from a JY that you have the means to flow test them. I would not put in used injectors without testing them first.

Well I think I am buying them new.
The ones I had before were ohm tested but not flow tested so that could have been my issue.

 

Yeah, probably was your issue. I've heard good things about Precision Auto Injectors and that's where I'll be getting my next set if I ever need to replace my 703s

 

Just buy some oem injectors

 

Brand new OEM injectors would be quite expensive

 

I have replaced the stock injectors in my 99, 00,01 and 01 with used 784"s purchased from PROGRAMBO. I have had no problems and can really tell the difference.

 

Money isn't really an factor.
I am getting money from insurance because I got a bit of bad gas and they are paying up to 350 for new injectors and money for other things. The rest is money in my pocket which id like to have. I mean I am going to be doing a lot of work to my jeep mostly bolt on stuff. Does the spray pattern of the 784 make that much of a difference?

 

i noticed faster start up, smoother idle, and better throttle response. No real improvements in power or mpgs but the throttle response is what sold me

 

send your OE out for reconditioning and maybe get them tweaked a bit?

 

I am fairly sure one of them is shot..one drips pretty bad when its off I dont know if reconditioning can fix that though

 

if you go the route of rebuilding the oems, look up Mr Injector on ebay, he has full rebuild kits for virtually every injector on the market. His kits come with new o rings, pintle seals, and filters

I just am a bit leery about throwing some 84s back at it since i had some pretty bad symptoms from swapping them in.
It could have been that I just had a stuck injector though.

 

I am just thinking that you could avoid spending $300 on 6 new OEM injectors when you could spend roughly $60 for a set of upgraded injectors from a reliable source (like the user Programbo on this here forum), someone who will test them for you prior to selling em. Because yes, you will be able to feel the upgrade. You may not necessarily get a boost in MPGs but you will get a smoother idle and better throttle response. More benefits for less dough.
