My original window regulator for the front passenger window broke on me. The original motor still works (I can hear it) but the cable broke from the clip. Ok, no problem. Found a guy with a replacement window regulator for the same model/year xj (1999 sport) and just finished installing it. Upon completion I went to test it and got nothing. Thought maybe the motor on the replacement was burnt out so I swapped my working motor from my old regulator assembly. Reinstalled and still nothing (don't hear the motor like I did before). The door lock switch on that door works but nothing for the window. Tried the driver side switches and they all work except the front passenger window. I'm about to head to the auto parts store and get some fuses to see if maybe the replacement motor burnt the fuse out, but aren't the door lock and window the same fuse? Any ideas on resolving this issue?

 

*update* went to head to the auto parts store and tried the window again....it works. Guess there was nothing wrong. So now I have a back up window motor!
