my stocker is shot to ****. a buddy gave me a 3 row brass/copper one that UPS forked up shipping. there are 3 pin holes in the filler neck from were i bent the overflow back. i am planning on hitting them with some solder and a propane torch will that be enough to keep it sealed?

In all honesty, not to burst your bubble, but I sure wouldn't trust it. 16-18 pounds of pressure at that temp, plus vibrations, not to mention offroad, etc etc.
I'm often replacing radiators at my shop mostly due to "pin hole" leaks.
Again, sorry to put a downer on it, but you're best bet is to fork over cash to the parts store. Radiator isn't something I'd take a gamble on.

maybe, Ive seen K5 blazer rads fixes with a beer can and some kind of adhesive. I want there when they fixed it but the fix worked for a while (from rad falling into fan). The great thing about brass rad is they are easy to fix but i would still make a claim with UPS

they sent him a new one so this rad was a spare. it can't be worse than the one thats in it now. i have about a tube and a half of silicone on it. oddly enough on the filler neck as well. stock plastic POS though so it can be expected.

I would think if your soldering skills are good it should work fine. Solder holds up fine at 60+ psi plumbing connections, why not 16-18 psi on a rad?

seems good to go installed the radiator yesterday after sweating the crack closed with a propane torch. ran it for about 4hrs today off and on kept the temps below 190F even with the AC which is 20F or so lower than the old one could do with the AC off. great improvement for $.10 of solder

if you go to autozone and tell them you need metal radiator repair, they will give you a tube that looks like a Tootsie-roll, all you have to to is mix the middle with the outside, it gets really hot (so be careful) and then stick it on like putty. and it is done.
