Heep is back on the road. My coworker looked at it. He starts looking at the coil. Pulls coil wire off dist cap to check for spark there. The engine fires. He plugs it back on. She fires and purs like a kitten. I figured it was some stupid little thing!

[QUOTE=cruiser54;1838253]CPS test is in order as is the preventative maintenance step outlined below:
Renix Jeep ICU/Coil contact refreshing
The contacts between the coil and the ICU on your Renix Jeep can become corroded and loose causing a complete or intermittent no-start condition. I recommend the following procedure as a maintenance precaution to insure this is eliminated as a possible cause now and in the future.
The coil is attached to the ICU by two T20 Torx bolts. Remove these two bolts and lift the coil up off the ICU. You will see 2 pins and 2 sets of contacts. Clean both the pins and springy contact pieces with a good electronics cleaner.
Squeeze the springy contacts closer together with some needlenose pliers. Apply some dielectric grease to the contacts and bolt the coil back on to the ICU.
While you’re right there unplug the connectors from the ICU and inspect the pins in the harness connector. Make sure the pins are not retracted into the connector. Spray out the connector and the receptacle of the ICU with the same good electronics cleaner you used earlier. Apply dielectric grease to the connectors and plug them back in.
I feel this procedure should be performed at least once in the lifetime of a Renix Jeep.

Hey Cruiser. I'm getting ready to take my spica cams out and install some euro cams in the Alfa. I'm still debating on dropping the spica and putting on webers.

We put the 11mm cams in a ported head with Spica. As long as the pump holds up you're okay. Wes Ingram now gets about $1200 for a rebuilt pump. Makes Webers a bit more desirable, huh?

That or covert over to electronic fuel injection lol. The weber convert is 1600 lol. I love the fact that Alfa designed that car to be easy to work on. They've made it easy to pull the engine out. So far the pump has held up great. No gas leaking into my oil lol. I need to change the pumps oil filter though.

Thought maybe my buddy's dmm was wrong so I stuck a new echlin cps in from napa. Still no start. Next Monday it's going to the mechanic. I'm stuck. Got no idea what it could be and I'm frustrated.

You can also check CPS input right at the ECU plug. Sorry man what a hassle!

Just food for thought my 88 died while running. It did the same thing when I tried to restart. Turned out to be the ecm . We where 30 miles from no where when this happened. Thank goodness we where with a group. Pain in the butt to sort out all the possibilities.
