im changing over to open system with the fill on the radiator and i know on the later cherokees that are open system the expantion tank and a hose from the radiator to it and a breather on the over side. so my question is do you have to keep that breather or vent line also on the expantion tank if u are trying to make it a open system if so what are good aftermarket expantion tanks for that cuz i cant seem to find any or do you not need that vent on the tank?

You can find those over flow tanks in stock at almost any auto parts store,just go in and ask for a universal overflow tank.

Yes. The overflow tank is NOT a expansion tank.

It IS open to atmospheric pressure.

It does have a overflow,not a vent,but you could call it that.
