Hesco has a 62mm throttle body for the Renix system which is quite larger than stock which is like 51mm or something. Would it be beneficial to put that on or convert to the HO throttle body kit they have or just convert the whole engine to HO. Don't need that much more performance on my 89 but a little more get up and go would be benificial. I do want to get possibly a header and then put a glasspack on the exhaust.
Just want to get some opinions on which route would be best.

A bored throttle body won't give you more power - just better part-throttle response. The OEM throttle body will support most strokers comfortably without issue.
If you want a significant boost all around, go stroker. Get a 258ci crankshaft and rods, and you'll jump up to about 4.5L displacement (assuming stock bore,) and you'll see an increase in torque from off-idle to around 5200rpm.
If you want more than that, it would help to know more detail about what you're after and why. It's difficult to answer the "more power" question without knowing more about it...

I also have an 89 xj, I installed pacesetter headers a cold air intake and upgraded the exhaust and i gotta say its got some b#lls. Im very happy with the performance i get, and this is with me running heavy rims and tires.
