I broke the original cable a couple months ago and swapping it out with a new one from napa was easy and everything went back together perfect and it works perfect most of the time.

Every once in a while though, if i punch the gas the cable pops off the little ball where it connects to the side of the manifold(renix manual trans). I can pop it right back on in about 20 seconds on the shoulder with the car still running and off i go but it is only a matter of time before it happens somewhere without a shoulder or super dangerous then im stuck. Anyone have any ideas on fixes or if maybe the ball it rests on is just too worn down to hold the cable? Thanks.
