89/xj/4.0 Renix/auto/4x4. I'm going to change over the engine in my 89 to a h.o. from a 95. I'm going to take the engine trans, and transfercase. I'm sure I need the wiring harness also. I'm just wondering what I will need from the donor vehicle??? Thanks

i hope you're not doing the swap to get you the horsepower of the h.o.
cause unless you change out the computer and all the harness, etc, it won't matter.
you can use the block, but if i remember correctly, you will need to use your renix head, intake and computer.
my 90 has a 95 motor swapped out from the previous owner, but had to keep the renix stuff. there is no added horsepower from the h.o. block. but i only have 50k miles on it.

I planned on taking the whole wiring harness but if I can just use the renix system on the h.o. motor I will probly do that. It won't be worth all the work for 10 more ponies. Another question is will a 94 transmission work in my 89??

i put a 2002 WJ 4.0 in my 89 and used all the renix stuff. even ran the pugot behind it for a little while. i had to drill and tap a few holes but it wasn't to hard. the 89 flywheel bolted right up and the distributor dropped in and worked. move the coolant sensor to the t-stat housing.
