Does any one know if 89 ax 15 has same spline count as ba/10.?

 

they are different... you have to change the transfer case for the swap
Peugeot is a 21-spline output, the AX15 is a 23-spline

 

the 4wd linkage is also different...

 

on the ax 15 with small pilot shaft that fits ba 10 pilot bearing ?

 

The AX15 does have a slightly longer housing than the Peugeot does, which does mean the driveshaft length is different also..

do you mean the pilot bearing? or bushing?

Early ax 15s had the smaller pilot shaft stub 89 thru 91 which is also renix ba 10 era is the out put on early ax15s the same as ba 10s .Not many know theres two different front shafts for ax 15s ,

 

ok just broke out my 90 book here... it says for the 90 the ax-15 it is 21 spline count... so they are the same... there are to different part numbers here...

dealer service books from jeep/amc... I am going off my dads notes written in the books... according to his notes 91 below Renix era ainternal pump ax-15s have the same spline count as the ba/10..... 21 count the ba is a short trans you need to change your drive shaft according to length... and he has two part #'s here and i cant read them... ugh..

 

Thats kool to have dads stuff ive got similar stuff but cars from 70s and back i do have a late 89 ax 15 supplement book in the shed gonna have to dig it out when its light hoping dads notes are correct gonna save me 250.00 on the tc .Ive located two Xjs 1989 with ax 15s .Thanks

 

not a problem... his handwriting is just hard to read.... sorry if i confused you... He had a thing for Renix Jeeps and he had every version of XJ and he always kept the one I have now...
