If tightening the petcock didn't fix it, then ^^ that is the ticket. Most FLAPS rent/loan them too.
It's normal for plain water to drip when the A/C is running because the humidity in the air condenses, but not coolant.

Yeah, I learned that a long time ago. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something cause my last renix's AC went to crap after my first summer driving, so I don't remember much about it.

Anyways, the lower rad hose is swelled and there is coolant pooled in the middle of the splash guard, so hopefully this is it, though I'm going to replace it anyways.

I pulled the grill out today. The rads leaking from the seam all the way at the bottom. As much as I hate the stuff, do you guys think some stop leak would fix it?

Nevermind about the stop leak, I did some searching around and no way! Anyways, the leak is tiny, could I JB Weld it?

Won't u have to take the rad out to JBWeld it? Might as well put a new rad in. Since the coolant is a liquid, the leak/hole could easily be at one, or more, spots while the drips are at another spot. New rad can be installed in less time the JBWeld will take to cure. Sounds like it's time for some serious cooling system TLC.

Yeah I suppose. I took it for a drive long enough to get it up to temperature and keep it there for a while and checked for leaks and I couldn't see any coolant period... Maybe the petcock was the solution and coolant got caught between the seam and body. I hope so

EDIT: And as for the JB vs replacement it's more of a money thing right now.

This has gotten weird. I drove for 10 minutes today got out and checked for leaks, nothing. I came back 5 minutes later and there is was leaking! It sat for 3 hours then I drove home. It has not leaked. I have no idea what to think about this.

The temp stays normal too, between ~180 and 210F.

It's trying to gently tell u it needs some TLC. How much longer it will gently tell u.......that's the $64,000 ?. Better start carrying a jug or two of coolant around with u in the back.

Yeah. It only needs to last me this weekend (knock on wood!) then I'll pull the one from my parts jeep.

I've had good luck with RISLONE Liquid Copper. It won't last forever but if money is an issue, this can get you through the summer. I had a '98 Suburban with an intake gasket leak. I was topping up the overflow bottle every week. Put this in and that stopped. Drove it for almost a year before getting rid of it (traded for '87 XJ!!).

I read some stuff about heaters not working, stuck thermostats an some other unpleasant stuff. I'm gonna pull the rad out of my parts jeep this week if it's not too hot out.

But again, I just drove 70 miles and there was no leakage. So far at least.

Hope the parts Jeep rad has been full with a good strong coolant/corrosion mix.....otherwise, it may be half full of scale/rust/crud.

It's been a parts jeep for two weeks now and the rad is less than two years old. Plus I'll flush it out before reinstallation.
