The switch between the BA-10 and AX-15 was mid-89 or whenever they ran out of parts...

I had 140k on my first one and now 121k on my second... Hopefully I will have an AX-15 in time for the next failure.

you can get a new one from autozone for 1437 dollars!

Oh and i looked at mine today and it's a ax-15 for sure

yeah... plus a core charge... cause they will want a ax15 in return... and you cant give it to them... so pricey way to go... JY is probly best bet... car-part.com maybe... craigslist,ebay....

lol just take your non AX15 tranny back later and tell them its an AX15. most the people working at autozone are clueless anyways.

The overheating can be a problem, but as stated, can be fixed.
Other than that I love my 88
I love my 88 too. I have beat the snot out of it and it is still a great rig to my surprise. I'm sure I have a few things I should fix but it is a dependable dd.
