So far Iv removed 1 1/2 sets of seats from 2 Jeeps. Sometime very soon Im going to be removing another, Iv had very bad experiances getting them out too. Whats a good way to remove rusted seat nuts? what about stripped nuts?

I thought I was gonna snap all the bolts on mine, they were so horribly rusted. With a good soaking of PB they all came out pretty easy, the ones on the floor though I had to hammer on the next smallest size socket cause the correct size socket just spun on them. Good luck man. And when you reinstall them use anti seize!

Using the proper size socket and using quality tools help prevent rounded nuts and bolts. Use 6 point sockets, 12 point sockets will only cause headaches on stuck rusty nuts and bolts.

I seem to always have bad luck with the front driver seat. On the Black 92 that I was gutting for parts I ended up just cutting a one off. And on the Silver 86 I cant get at least 2 of them off. Im just hoping my 89 will be easier. But I doubt it.

back left on drivers broke on mine, back right on passengers. To get the inners try pulling out the back seat bottom so you can get a better angle for leverage. and x2 on Bustedback's comment, ALWAYS use 6 point to keep the frustration down

Oh and DONT try and remove the seat belts if you dont have to. May be unrelated but the seat belt star bolts are a real pain once they strip out, which happens fairly easily. pb for a while before you tackle those, and put in real bolts if you ever do get them out.

Wow I literally just came in from trying to get my seats out. Passenger side came out in 15 mins no problem the I went to the drivers side and 3 of the 4 came out fairly easy but the 4th was rusted real bad and I ended up stripping it out so I thought fine I'll just drill it out. Bad idea...now I have a sideways hole going through only half the bolt. I finally got pissed off and called it a night. Any ideas on what to do next?

Haha I dont know what to tell you to be honest. When I was taking the seats out of the Black one 3 of 4 came out. So I also decided to drill it. Didnt work
So I ended up just destroying the thing to get it out. Luckly it was a donor jeep so its not like I needed it anymore

Its a T45 Torx bit, I have one on a 3/8" drive for my ratchet, works everytime.
Bolts on mine were rusted, go slow and use a 1/4" short ratchet to limit how much torque you put on those weak ***** studs.
