Hmm...I you must buy the cheapest jankass plexiglass you can find..and the stuff that i got to put into our shed has been outside in the elements for almost two years now no problems. And plus it was pretty cheap..WAY cheaper than glass. And I dont know if you knew this or not but glass scratches too?

Plexiglass is not dot approved. FOR A REASON! Just sitting its fine but at speed with dust and dirt and rocks hitting it plus crap in the air it will pit scratch and fog. If you don't believe us fine. They use plexiglass in race cars. There are a number of articles with reasons not to use it on the street. I can buy plexigass Windows for my mustang.... quite expensive... they are sold for off highway use only and for good reason.

Plexi scratches much easier than glass.
Anybody have info on removing the black/chrome trim around the door windows? You know, the stuff that turns from black to chrome on almost all early Xj's?

The back can come out pretty easy after 15 years. Was having a "party" in there with my lab-Sharpey and a big pit bull. Window popped right out and didn't brake on the grass, or when I threw the pit bull out. (Taz easily could have hurt me). Was able to just stick it back in. (the window, not the pit).

I'm with on doing it right - there's videos on how to use the clothesline approach to install. I'll be doing the same and hope to reuse the gasket on my 96 too. Post some picks when you get your paint project started - not many people do a glass-off repaint.
