So my friend who's a mechanic recently put my lift on for me and then gave me my stock parts back. This is one if the things he gave me. Just curious as to what it is. Thanks guys

Kind of a shot in the dark here, and I think the angle of the pic makes this more confusing...It might be what one of the front shocks seats on?

I have never seen anything that looks like that on any of my Jeeps. Are you sure it came off your XJ?

Looks like some sort of perch for a coil spring... not sure if its for an xj though?

That was my immediate thought but I didn't want to make the lame joke.

On a good note, if your mechanic had parts left over then at least you can be confident he did the job correctly.

Seriously though, I have never seen anything under mine that looked like that. Maybe its sometype of aftermarket part installed by the PO and thats why you no longer need it.

You know, after looking closer at this part I see what it is... its not a spring perch. Its your horn fluid resivoir. Not sure why he removed this to do a lift. Its usually mounted right between your flux capacitor and your ejector seat module.

Its probably easily mistaken for other parts.

The DeLorean capacitor, which is most common, looks different.

That is a frame to body mount. He must have done a body lift instead.
