Default Remove old gas from 2000 xj

I have a 2000 xj that has beeen in the barn for 2 years with about 10 gallons of gas in it. I am looking for the best way to remove the gas without removing the tank.

buy a siphon or hand pump and remove as much as possible that way. Fill it with new gasoline and add some drygas treatment.

Siphoning will be the easiest. Or you can remove the fuel pump, though I'm not sure on the newer body styles if the fuel pump is on top or on the side like the older style.

my 99 xj was very easy to drop the tank. on it is a large plastic screw cap that will allow access to tank to wipe it/ clean it, etc. my screw cap actually loose enough to vent quite a bit of fumes when i bought it and after a couple of months loosened enough to spill out gas when i filled up!
also- the pump i probavly an in tank setup and will be worth cleaning the sock (pre filter) on it)

sometimes its hard to siphon strait from the filler neck. i had to take off the "intake hose" on both xj's i had to siphon from. the hose clamp was in the weirdest postion so i couldnt get a wrench or socket on it very well. pita.
