The way i did mine was using a punch and hammer, I knocked the pins out and took the doors off. Then I had more then enough room to take those bolts out. I did get new bolts with a 10mm head on it so it would be easier in the future. Hope this helps.

When you drive the pin out, the whole door will come off. Then you can use anything to take the torx bolts out.

A punch and hammer works the best. I can't remember which way the pins are, but if I remember right i started with the bottom pin and drove it out then knocked the top pin out. You might have to have someone hold your door when you do this.

What year is your XJ?

If all else fails, do what I did, cut the heads off the bolts and replace with hex head stainless hardware.

I went to the hardware store.

I used an angle grinder. Pics should be in my build thread.

I removed that little slider bar, and cut away. Wasn't hard, maybe because I have a 2 door it was easier?

You should still be able to open the door the same amount though. Maybe even more since my doors are significantly longer.

Have you even tried to fit a grinder?

Get a dremel and cut it off. I actually used a sawzall for the drivers side lol. It did bend the blade though and I ran out of blades since I only had 2. Then I used an angle grinder for the passenger front with a cut off wheel. I think a dremel is probably best though. A guy from NAXJA came over and helped me with his dremel for the rears. Worked out great.
