Default Reman motor.

Hello all, Noob with a question. I just picked up my first jeep, 98 cherokee for a smokin deal. Paid $800, no dents, scratches, rust, rips or anything that way, but has a bad motor. Wondering who you guys would recommend for a reman? Thanks in advance.

I just pulled mine and rebuilt it. Its really not that hard just need some time and a good torque wrench. Plus you know what your getting at the end.

I'm mechanically inclined. My friend does race car engines but it's just getting the time to do it. I don't know if anything is wrong with the block. Sounds like a rod though.

well its just one of those things you have to just pull it ( you will have to anyways) and just go throught it. If you have time on your side just get a good book and look it all over. Bearings are not alot and the rest of it isnot to much considering your looking into reman motors. I rebuilt mine for less and i know everything that is in it. Just know if you do a cam replace lifters and so on and so on. But the book and a GOOD torque you should be fine. Even with your friend that does it you will be way better off building your own well in my opinion.
