Relocating rear license plate?
so, im toying around with an idea for the back of my jeep....something that i think is pretty unique. However, it would require moving the license plate to the bottom right corner of the liftgate.
I have never done anything electrical....how hard would it be to re-route the license plate light wires to the new spot and hook them up to a new lighted holder?
im hoping plug and play.....
and dont worry....i will put up pics when its done

If you can relocate the license plate mount then the wiring the light should be no problem... All you would have to do is throw a butt connector on the positive wire run it over to your new license plate box and do the save with the negative wire... easy as that

Moved
I moved mine when I got a tire carrier. It is easy to move the wiring. Once the panel is out of the way, there is a pretty reasonable amount of room to work with inside the door.
I did nuts and bolts on mine, as I wanted it to be on nice-n-solid. I used a junkyard light off an older Toyota Carolla. They look pretty clean. Most lights just have the 2 wires going to them, so extending the wire and hooking them up is no big deal.

I found exactly what I wanted
I'm gonna blast the chrome a flat black while painting this weekend. Its nice and lowprofile, won't destroy the lines on the rear.
