Ow do you get an 89 rear bumper off?

Take end caps off. Then you can do it one of two ways. First is to remove four bolts that hold the bracket to the jeep or you can remove two bolts that hold the bumper to the bracket

removing the brackets entirely tends to easier, plus by doing it that way you don't have to remove the caps on 96 and priors.

Have fun, do what they said but when i took mine off 4 of the 8 bolts snapped off

PB blaster 4 times a day for 2-3 days before hand does wonders.

How do I remove the entire bracket? It seems impossible to get a wrench in there

If you don't care about the bumper and are replacing it with a better one then just grab a sawzall and cut the bumper off "around" the brackets.... now that you have more room for sockets... PB blast em and then grab your impact gun and zip em off

My plan is to replace it eventually but lack of funds right now haha. I'm just gonna spray line the old one for now
